Nagasaki International Association

The Nagasaki International Association was established in November 1990 with the support of private organisations, the prefectural government and municipal offices. It is committed to developing a cosmopolitan environment in the prefecture by carrying out a wide range of internationally related programs. Through fostering friendship between Nagasaki Prefecture and other nations, the International Association hopes to create a prefecture open to the world.

The following information and services are provided for international and domestic residents:
  1. Information on Nagasaki's culture, sightseeing and daily life
  2. Advice for international residents who are encountering cross-cultural problems or have questions about living in Japan
  3. Information about international affairs, study-abroad programmes and international friendship and cooperation activities
  4. A library with language texts, dictionaries, videos, English language books, magazines and newspapers
  5. Use of a computer
  6. Free copies of the Association's newsletters
  7. Use of the bulletin board at the Association

We Cooperate and Help!!!
1) In order to foster an international atmosphere in the prefecture, we support internationally related activities and projects. We provide:
  1. Financial support to grass-roots international exchange organisations
  2. Advice on organising events related to international cooperation, friendship and understanding
  3. Advice and help administer international understanding education programmes at educational institutions
  4. Information and support to emigrants' organisations overseas
  5. Cooperation to public and private organisations' programmes and events
2) Support Young People
We provide financial assistance to selected young residents of Nagasaki to take part in international understanding and cooperation activities in Asia.

3) We provide services to international students in Nagasaki Prefecture.
